EDF Energy

We had high hopes that EDF were finally getting in on the act and putting some serious dosh behind new renewable generation. That faith appears to have been misplaced judging by this year.

This massive French nuclear energy company - which owns London Energy, Seeboard Energy and SWEB Energy - did manage to build one onshore wind park, but continues to invest far more in conventional generation and nuclear power (they're pushing ahead with four new nuclear power stations in the UK right now).

They did receive consent to build a 60MW offshore project in September 2007 - part of their aim to invest in around 1,000 MW of UK renewable energy production. Got some way to go then chaps...

2007 New Build:
£18.1 million
