Four years on...

Believe it or not WhichGreen has been operating for four years now. We hope our site has helped you - the consumer - to make informed decisions on just which suppliers are putting their money where their mouths are.

After publishing league tables for four years now we thought it would be a good time to reflect on just how much new renewable build has been acheived.

With time-consuming planning issues, a four year picture gives a more accurate account of which suppliers were firmly committed to building new sources of renewable energy. New generation is based upon the Ofgem commission date of the renewable energy project.

The league table opposite details all suppliers total spend on renewables between 2004-2007, averaged out to work out the £ / customer each year.

And here's a few other stats you might like to know about:

Total investment in 2004 from all suppliers was £122 million....

In 2005 this had increased to £197 million...

before hitting a peak in 2006 at £328 million...

and then dropping off last year to £210 million
